Siemens Gamesa secured project of 250MW of solar in Andhra Pradesh

Siemens Gamesa has bagged a project of 250MW from Sprng Energy. It is said to be its largest order till date. The project will be developed in Anantapuram in Andhra Pradesh. Sprng Energy is owned by Actis and has over 1,650 MW of renewable energy projects across India.

“This order unquestionably boosts our confidence and demonstrates our expertise in solar farm engineering and execution. With this order, we have increased the pace of our solar business and we are confident of achieving sustained growth with the support of our loyal customers and an efficient team.”

Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director of Siemens Gamesa India said.

NTPC is all set to purchase the generated solar power at a tariff of Rs 2.72/kWh. Siemens Gamesa will provide EPC for the project.

Siemens Gamesa is present in India since 2009. They have a total installed base of over 6 GW with both wind and solar PV projects. It started solar operations in India in 2015 by offering EPC solutions for MW-scale solar projects and off-grid and hybrid solutions. The company has commissioned over 400MW solar power in India.
